Media Wise Communications Inc./MUSE Books, despite its small size and lean operations, is a heavyweight in coffee-table book publishing, acknowledged in the industry for its expertise, professionalism, and the high quality of its products. Led by visual artist Ramoncito Ocampo Cruz, who founded the company and who now serves as its CEO, Media Wise leverages on Cruz’s extensive background in the arts and in publication to deliver elegant, artistic books of substance that have been recognized by award-giving bodies here and abroad.

Media Wise has received numerous awards. In 2009 it won a Philippine Quill Award of Merit for its 150: The Ateneo Way, a coffee-table book celebrating the sesquicentennial of Jesuit education in the Philippines. The same book bagged an Anvil Award of Merit in 2011. In the same year, its Veritas, Integritas Justitia: 75 Years of the Ateneo Law School was awarded a Philippine Quill Award of Excellence, and in 2012, an Anvil Award of Merit.

The next year, Jesuits in Mindanao: The Mission, a coffee-table book published for the benefit of the old and infirm Jesuits and for the promotion of Jesuit vocation, won the Philippine IABC Quill Award of Excellence. In 2017, the book swept the International Association of Business Communications Gold Quill Award in Washington DC and the Asia Pacific IABC Silver Quill Award in Singapore, one of just two Philippine companies to accomplish the feat among giants in the industry.

Also in 2017, Media Wise’s PNB: 100 Years of Excellence bagged a Gold Anvil Award, a distinction it duplicated in 2018 with another Gold Anvil Award for its The Maestro of Philippine Basketball.

Media Wise Communications won two-peat in 2020 with the newest coffee-table book that it produced and published for The Manila Jockey Club Inc, The Front Runner: 150 Years of the Manila Jockey Club, running away with the coveted International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Gold Quill Award of Merit after winning the Gold and Platinum Awards in the 2020 Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) Anvil Awards. The latest win follows in the footsteps of its coffee-table book On the March: The Jesuits in the Philippines Since the Restoration, which won the same prestigious awards in 2019. Media Wise won its first IABC Gold Quill award in 2017 for the coffee table book Jesuits In Mindanao: The Mission.

Media Wise Won another Philippine Quill Award this year, which was given during the Quill Awards Night last March 25, 2021, capping its third Grand Slam in the Philippine, Regional (Asia Pacific) and International Quill Awards.
